Kylian Mbappu also left his name at the top of the football world. As well as all the teams he plays for, he also plays for the French national team, becoming world champion in 2018 and runner-up in 2022.
Now, ahead of the FIFA World Cup, the French striker not only secured his place in the tournament with his brace against Ukraine, but also helped him reach an impressive record that surpasses the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The French national team defeated Ukraine 4-0 in the World Cup qualifiers, in which Kylian scored two goals. One came from a penalty and the other in the 83rd minute. Michael Olise and Hugo Ekitike added the other two goals.
Thanks to these two games, the French striker reached 400 professional goals at the age of 26 years, 10 months and 25 days, making him the youngest player to reach this milestone, Transfermarkt reports.
In doing so, Mbappu will be separated from Lionel Messi (27 years, 3 months, 3 days), Cristiano Ronaldo (28 years, 11 months, 1 day) and Gerd Muller (27 years, 2 months, 17 days).
As if that wasn’t enough, Mbappu now has 55 goals in 94 games for France, two goals away from equaling Olivier Giroud’s 57 and three away from surpassing him as France’s all-time top scorer.
His total goals include 27 with AS Monaco, 256 with Paris Saint-Germain, 62 with Real Madrid and 55 with the French national team.
After the win, France moved into first place in Group D with 13 points. Iceland and Ukraine follow with seven points, followed by Azerbaijan with one point.
The tournament will be held from June 11 to July 19, 2026 in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
