CThere will always be comparisons between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as to who is the GOAT of soccer.

However, the debate was reignited after the Al Nasr star claimed in an interview with Piers Morgan that he considers himself better than the Inter Miami captain. And seven-time F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton had an answer.

Hamilton picks his favorites

During the Brazilian Grand Prix in Sao Paulo, Lewis answered several questions on various topics related to F1 and others unrelated to the sport he practices. Speaking about soccer, Hamilton revealed that his favorite players are Vincius Junior (Real Madrid) and Neymar Junior (Santos FC).

However, when asked to choose between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, the Ferrari driver did not hesitate.

“I get asked this question a lot,” Luiz said with a laugh, before finally answering, “I like Messi’s skills.”

In the interview, he also revealed that he is afraid of spiders, that his favorite circuit is Silverstone and that his favorite driver is Ayrton Senna.

But despite the relaxed and enjoyable interview, his weekend wasn’t the best for him or for Scuderia Ferrari.

Ferrari suffers two DNFs in Brazil

Hamilton managed to finish seventh in the sprint race after a difficult qualifying on Friday, but was eliminated in Q2 and finished 13th in the qualifying session at Interlagos for Sunday’s race.

During the race, the British rider had a minor collision with Williams’ Carlos Sainz, causing minor damage to his car.

However, the most serious damage occurred after a collision with Alpine’s Franco Colapinto, which not only damaged his front wing but also resulted in a five-second penalty from the FIA.

Finally, on lap 39 of the race, Ferrari decided to retire due to damage to Hamilton’s car. This is the British driver’s third DNF of the season. “It’s definitely a race to forget,” Lewis said.

On the other hand, his teammate Charles Leclerc also did not perform well. After an overtaking maneuver by Oscar Piastri, the Australian made contact with Andrea Kimi Antonelli. This caused the Mercedes driver to collide with Leclerc, damaging his front suspension, so he also was unable to complete the race.

Although only the McLaren driver was given a 10-second penalty following the incident, Charles believes both he and Kimi are equally responsible.

“I really think Kimi knew and was aware that Oscar was on the inside. He certainly wasn’t side-by-side. It says so in the rulebook, but no matter how far apart you are, if you have someone on the inside, you can’t turn the corner like there’s no one on the inside. So, for me, it’s a 50-50 split between you and Oscar. I don’t think Oscar deserves all the blame there,” Charles said.

Now, Ferrari is preparing to turn the page and focus on the next race on the calendar, which will soon end, the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Free practice 1 and 2 will be held on Friday, November 20th, and free practice 3 and qualifying will be held on Saturday, November 21st. The race will finally be held on November 23rd (Sunday).
