His connection with the Catalan club began when McDaniel was an assistant coach with the Houston Texans.
“When I was working for the Texans in my second year in the NFL, there was a friendly against Barça and it was a great event. I have been watching them closely ever since,” he said in a press conference.
Metropolitano or Bernabéu?
McDaniel said he was “very impressed” with the Metropolitano and described it as a “first-class” stadium.
“I’m very impressed. You can tell this is first class. I think we’re very lucky to have access to facilities like this,” he said.
However, he revealed that he did not go to the Bernabéu, where the NFL game between the Dolphins and the Commanders will be held in Madrid.
Finally, the Dolphins coach commented that his favorite soccer tournament is the World Cup, concluding, “I don’t think I’ll miss the World Cup. It’s the best of the best. At the World Cup, people from all over the world fight for their countries. I’m a fan.”
