NEW YORK, Switzerland (AP) – Bayern Munich’s stadium is set to host the Champions League final again in 2028, with the 2029 final to be played between London’s Wembley Stadium and Barcelona’s renovated Camp Nou.
UEFA on Friday confirmed a list of interested bidders from among its member associations, suggesting the long-speculated final in New York will not take place until at least 2030.
UEFA said in a statement: “Expressions of interest are non-binding and final proposals must be submitted together with tender documents by June 10.”
Munich hosted the final last season Wembley last hosted the final in 2024. Barcelona has not hosted a final since 1999.
The UEFA Executive Committee is expected to decide on the venue for the 2028 and 2029 all-club competition finals in September next year.
This season’s Champions League final will be held at Budapest’s Puskas Arena, and with a new evening kick-off time in Europe, the 2027 final will be held at Atletico Madrid’s stadium.
