TThe Santiago Bernabéu dressed up on Friday to host the presentation of the 2025 Golden Boot award, which honors Kylian Mbappé as Europe’s best goalscorer this season, according to European Sports Media (ESM). The Real Madrid striker scored 31 goals in La Liga and earned 62 points in the coefficient system, ahead of Victor Goqueres (39 goals, 58.5 points) and Mohamed Salah (29 goals, 58 points).
The award was presented by Juan Ignacio Gallardo, Director of MARCA and Vice-President of ESM, in a ceremony held in the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium’s Honorary Hall, with Real Madrid President Florentino Pérez also present. Second Vice President Giorgi Xolosi and ESM Secretary General Sander Berents were also present.
Real Madrid wanted to support the player and give him the prize he deserved by opening the doors of the stadium as a sign of recognition. More than 200 attendees filled the venue, including the entire Los Blancos team and their coach, Xabi Alonso, as well as relatives of the French footballer, who experienced one of the most special moments since arriving at the club.
The event began with the words of Florentino Pérez, who wished to congratulate the players and emphasize the importance of this award. “Dear Kylian, these boots are the result of your commitment to football. I am proud to have a player like you. You perfectly embody the values of our club.”

Juan Ignacio Gallardo then took to the stage and emphasized the symbolic and sporting value of the award. “Thanks to your 31 goals in your first season at Real Madrid, you have won this award with full credit,” he said, recalling that the Golden Boot award, created in 1968 and organized by ESM for 28 years, recognizes Europe’s top scorers without votes or juries.
Gallardo also highlighted the combination of talent, effort and maturity that characterizes the French striker, saying, “His perfect control, speed, strength and accuracy in the box turned scoring into a natural routine.”
MARCA’s director concluded his speech with recognition and a message for the future. “Today you not only received the Golden Boot, but perhaps the first of the collection. You have already realized many of the dreams you had as a child, and today you will realize one more. This boot will fit you like a glove.”
