Vinicius has publicly apologized after disrespecting Xabi Alonso in the Clasico. In a message written on his social networks, the Brazilian striker apologized to Madrid fans for the gesture he made during his substitution against Barcelona.
“Sometimes passion gets the better of me, because I always want to win and help the team,” Vinicius wrote, justifying his reaction to the change in the game at the Bernabeu.
And he ended his apology by declaring his love for the club. “I promise to continue to fight every second for the interests of Real Madrid, as I have done since day one.”

Xabi Alonso warned that he will address this issue today
The Real Madrid manager did not want to add fuel to the fire in his press conference after the victory over Barcelona, but warned that the matter would be discussed in Valdebebas after the team’s day off.
“Vini gave me a lot of good things. I don’t want to lose focus on what’s important, but we’ll talk about that now,” Xavi said after the Clasico victory. It was an attempt to defuse tensions, but without drawing a line under the issue. “We will talk about it. There are different personalities in the team and we need to understand them. We will enjoy it for now and then of course we will talk to him.”
It remains to be seen whether Vinicius’ private and public apologies will solve the problem with Xabi Alonso, or whether his abuse will have a sporting impact in future matches.
