Robinho, who played for Real Madrid from 2005 to 2008, was sentenced in Italy in 2022 for a gang rape committed in the Alpine country in 2013 and is serving a nine-year sentence in Tremembe prison.
A Brazilian court recently rejected Robinho’s new appeal and sentenced him to prison in São Paulo for rape.
They keep lying to me about me being the leader of the prison and that I have mental problems.
Robinho claimed in a 2024 interview with TV Record that there was enough evidence to prove his innocence, but he ignored the Italian judicial system even after the trial.
The guards are in charge here, and we, the prisoners, just obey.
“We had a superficial and quick relationship. We exchanged a kiss and then went home. There were other people there. I went home because I saw that she wanted to continue with another man. … I never denied it. It was consensual. I didn’t deny it. I could have denied it because my DNA is not there. But I’m not a liar,” the former Santos player explained.
Robinho on his experience as a civilian prisoner: ‘I’ve never been treated differently’
The Taubate Community Council, a non-profit organization founded by Judge Sueli Zereik to support justice, released a video denying that Robinho has privileges or is treated differently than other prisoners.
I have never received any benefits. Visits are on Saturday or Sunday. When my wife doesn’t come alone, she comes with the kids. The visit is the same for everyone, the treatment is the same for everyone
“My diet, my sleep schedule, everything is the same as other prisoners. I have never eaten anything different or been treated differently. When it’s time for work, I do everything that other prisoners do. If I want to play soccer, I’m allowed on Sundays when I don’t have to work,” explained the 41-year-old former Santos, Real Madrid, AC Milan and Manchester City footballer.
Robinho stressed: “I have never received any benefits. My visits are on Saturdays or Sundays. If my wife doesn’t come alone, I bring my children. My eldest son can play, and my younger two can come. The visits are the same for everyone, and the treatment is the same.”
“They lie that I am the leader of the prison or that I have mental problems. I have never had anything like that and I have never had to take medication. Thank God, despite how difficult it is to be in prison, which is normal. I always remain calm and do everything an inmate can do,” he said.
The former Real Madrid footballer explained: “The aim here at Tremembe prison is to re-educate people who have made mistakes and reintegrate them into society. I have never had any leadership here or anywhere else. Here, as I have already said, the guards are in charge and we, the prisoners, just obey.”
Robinho is being held in Brazil’s celebrity prison, Penitentiary 2.
The 40-year-old former soccer player is being held in Brazil’s so-called “celebrity prison”, Dr. José Augusto César Salgado 2 Prison (Tremembe 2 Prison) in São Paulo. There are 430 inmates in the cells, which are 9 to 15 square meters in size and can accommodate up to six people.
Famous murderers Robinho lives with in Tremembe 2nd prison
Tremembe Prison 2 is home to politicians (Luis Estevao), celebrities (Antonio Marcos Pimenta das Neves), and famous murderers such as convicted Alexandre Nardoni, Cristian Clavinhos (von Richthofen’s murderer), Roger Abdelmassi (a doctor who abused 39 sedated patients), and Lindenberg Alves. Rape, kidnapping, murder, etc.
This is what the crater of Brazil’s “celebrity prison” where Robinho is imprisoned looks like
Journalist Ulises Campbell, in his book about the von Richthofen murder case, revealed that Robinho prison inmates engineered a kind of tinderbox with inmates from another prison three miles away.
Under the system, prisoners send a full-body photo as a thank you for the visit, and a guard reads a personal letter.
That prison “tinder” forged a romantic relationship between two famous murderers. Vinicius Nunez (who murdered his own brother) and Jacqueline Moraes (who murdered her husband by stabbing her 56 times) began dating, but they broke up after the prisoner separated from the love of his life and discovered that she was “fatter and wrinkled” than the photos they shared. Shortly thereafter, he became engaged to another inmate.
