TThe Argentina U20 team is unstoppable at the 2025 World Cup in Chile. Coach Diego Placente’s team defeated Mexico 2-0 in the quarterfinals, then defeated Colombia 1-0 in the semifinals, proving their class once again.

The only goal of the match was scored by Matteo Silvetti. He had already scored against Mexico, and he did it again as a key figure in Albiceleste’s passage to the final. With this victory, Argentina are firmly established as the top favorites to win the championship and will aim for their seventh world title in this category.

Silvetti, Executioner of Mexico and Colombia

The Inter Miami striker was decisive again, scoring the winning goal against Colombia, just as he did in the previous match against Mexico. His ability to appear in key moments has made him one of the most outstanding names in the tournament.

Argentina imposes its own style

Albiceleste dominated the match with possession, high pressing and solid defense, neutralizing Colombia’s attacks. Goalkeeper Santino Balbi was key with his timely intervention, while Gianluca Prestiani and Ian Zviabre constantly created danger in attack.

Colombia was unable to repeat that feat.

After defeating Spain in the quarter-finals with a hat-trick from Nicer Villarreal, Colombia came into the match confident, but faced a well-organized Argentina team that did not allow them space or rhythm. The Colombian team ran a worthy campaign but was unable to overcome their South American rivals and were eliminated.

The perfect path for Argentina

Argentina reaffirmed its status as a powerhouse in the U-20 category by defeating Cuba, Australia, Italy, Nigeria, Mexico, and Colombia, winning six games in a row, and advancing to the finals with 15 goals and only two opponents.

Morocco’s final hurdle

In the final, Argentina will face Morocco, who defeated France in a dramatic penalty shootout. It will be an unprecedented match at this stage as Albiceleste seeks his seventh youth world title and the first since Canada in 2007.

exciting generation

With players such as Silvetti, Prestiani, Subiabre and Balbi, the Argentine team has shown talent, character and cohesion. Diego Placente’s work was the key to strengthening a group that dreams of making history in Chile.
