Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior has been charged in a Brazilian court with “disturbing work and peace” during a large party he hosted to celebrate his birthday in Rio de Janeiro, official sources confirmed on Wednesday.
The case is being heard in Rio’s 9th Special Criminal Court, which handles misdemeanors, and is based on complaints from neighbors in the area where the Brazil national team winger celebrated his 25th birthday between July 19 and the early hours of July 21. The party, which was held in a luxurious mansion used to host large-scale events such as weddings and corporate events, caused the damage, according to the complaint cited by O Globo newspaper. There was a lot of noise and it disturbed the peace in the neighborhood.

The complainant claimed that when he called the military police, he discovered loud music and shouting and asked those present to turn down the volume. The complainant said Vinicius and his guests followed the officers’ commands, but as they were leaving, “the sound again reached a very high volume.” Officials from the Rio de Janeiro state judiciary indicated that a preliminary hearing on the case will be held on November 6th.
