Historic Sivas Guadalajara striker and former national team player Omar Bravo has been arrested for aggravated child sexual abuse crimes following complaints filed in the Jalisco prosecutor’s office.
Authorities say Bravo was arrested on Saturday, October 5th during an operation in downtown Zapopan, and a day later he was presented at the first hearing the judge officially charged.

The indictment marks the formal beginning of the criminal process. At this stage, the prosecutor presents evidence and officially condemns the detainees of the crimes arising from him.

For now, Omar Bravo has been transferred to Rikulsolio Metropolitano de El Salto in Jalisco. His defense comes after he demanded that Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman and other significant criminals not be sent to Puente Grande, a formerly held high-end prison.

The next hearing of the case is scheduled for Friday, October 10th, with the judges deciding whether there is sufficient evidence to open a formal criminal case against the former footballer, or, conversely, whether the evidence presented by the prosecution is not conclusive.
Meanwhile, 44-year-old Omar Bravo remains in custody for El Salto while his guilt is determined. However, the former Shivas player faces a complicated legal path amid accusations that could change his legacy forever.
