Ryan Reynolds spoke of the unexpected and troubling first meeting signing New Lexham’s Records and Nathan Broadhead, just before the club’s home defeat to West Bromwich Albion.
Broadhead, who played in the Premier League as in May, returned to the Welsh club, where he began his career, signing a four-year deal from Ipswich with a move reportedly containing an initial fee of $10.1 million.
The footballer is very big and muscular and can keep up with the demands of modern games, but the Deadpool actor acknowledged his youthful looks, not his build that shocked him.
“Obviously, those things are in the work a little longer than the public view might have,” Reynolds told ITV. “I had a very troublesome moment with him in the dressing room.
“In fact, he looked very young and I saw him play tons, so I saw him. I didn’t commit. I was like, ‘Hey, hello!” I said, “It’s not Nathan Broadhead.
“But he’s 27 and he’s a machine, so I had it, but now it’s sinking.
The club’s record-breaking signatures follow a major summer recruitment that includes former Premier League players Conor Cody, Kiefer Moore, Danny Ward and former Welksam’s record-transfer fees Lewis O’Brien.
Broadhead’s return adds depth and experience to the offensive line, giving the Red Dragons extra firepower for future challenges.
Wrexham aims to secure the first championship victory of the season, facing Sheffield on Wednesday next weekend, hoping that Broadhead will have an immediate impact and help the team change the fate of their early campaign.
Slip to home defeat with championship return
West Brom maintained a perfect start to their championship campaign with Isaac Price dominated Wrexham, who was newly promoted at the racecourse grounds, as Isaac Price doubled his goal tally in many matches after Tom Fellows’ wing play gave Ryan Mason’s side to the early lead.
Reisham responded before halftime. Lewis O’Brien was converted from Kiefer Moore Cross and scored his first goal since joining from Nottingham Forest before injury concerns arise when Windus was forced on hamstring issues.
Broadhead made his debut soon, and Connor Cody came to guide Wrexham’s near miss before approaching alongside Header, but West Brom regained the lead through Jed Wallace, later sealing off a 3-2 victory with Price’s late header.
Despite the losses, co-owners Reynolds and Rob McElhenney witnessed Waysham’s first home tier fixture since 1982. This reminded me of the quality of the championship and the challenges the Red Dragons face in their debut campaign.
