Brittany Mahomes has emerged as a powerful force in the development of professional women’s soccer, and has significantly increased the value and visibility of Kansas City’s flow to a $275 million valuation with the help of her husband.
Patrick’s wife of the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs independently built a $15 million worth of business empire to include joint ownership of Brittany Lynn Fitness, 15, Mahomes Foundation and National Women’s Football League (NWSL) teams.
The former University of Texas College of Football standout, 29, seized the opportunity to invest in women’s soccer when Kansas City was chosen for the expansion market and became a key stakeholder for a re-established club.
Working with Angie and Chris Long, the team was rebranded as Kansas City Current in 2021, reflecting the region’s new vision for women’s soccer.
Under Brittany’s leadership and strategic vision, the franchise’s valuation has skyrocketed to an impressive $275 million, with a $5 million margin just behind Angel City FC, according to Forbes.
The organization reported revenue of $36 million last year and is projected to reach $45 million this year, highlighting rapid fiscal growth as current investments in new stadiums and world-class training facilities are evidence of their passion for sports.
The team is also backed up by Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes. Patrick Mahomes’ involvement leverages its mission to create the best women’s soccer clubs today in the United States.
Is Andy Reed messing around with Patrick Mahomes’ preseason involvement?
Andy Reed again said that Mahomes will play the entire first quarter for the Arizona Cardinals in the Kansas City Chiefs’ preseason opening game, but history suggests that this is not the case.
Regardless of pre-season promises, fans made a brief appearance before being pulled out, only to have three Super Bowl champions and Super Bowl MVPs got used to the 29-year-old to avoid injuries.
In previous openers, Mahomes often played a single drive. Sometimes, just four or five snaps before succumbing to the backup quarterback. The backup for 2025/26 is Gardner Minshew.
This careful approach has been consistent since Putt became a starter, continuing last year when his first team offense played just six snaps. Thus, although Reid’s statement generates pre-season talk, expectations for expanded Mahome’s actions remain low.
For the Chiefs, preserving the health of the franchise quarterback is far more than the value of the additional preseason worth, especially as they are trying to regain their status as Super Bowl champions after losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in February.
They will open a campaign against the Los Angeles Chargers on September 5th, heading to Brazil, South America as part of plans to expand the NFL around the world.
