Princess Charlotte made the headline with a surprising royal appearance that delighted fans at the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 Final in Basel, Switzerland. The 10-year-old joined his father, Prince William, and had a fun Sunday in support of the English lioness.
Dressed by his father and smiling beside him, Charlotte watched a little bit of the young royal football fans as he cheered from the stands at St. Jacob Park.
Prince William, 43, appeared in the role of the Football Association patron, leading the Royal Show of the UK women’s team, which fought in the second European Championship title, which previously won the crown in 2022.
The royal father-daughter duo’s outing was more than just a moment of family bonding. It was a treat that was a surprise to royal watchers and sports fans. It was confirmed that William will be in the final on July 23rd, but no one was expecting Charlotte to be in.
The princess and her brother are on vacation
Prince William has long been a passionate football supporter. He previously visited Lioness at St. George’s Park before the tournament began and traveled to Switzerland earlier this month on July 9th for a high stakes match against the Netherlands in England.
This unusual summer public figure fell during the royals’ unofficial break, with 12-year-old Prince George, Princess Charlotte and 7-year-old Prince Louis on school holidays.
William and Princess Kate have traditionally reduced schedules during this period to focus on families. Even King Charles follows a similar pattern of returning to rest from public duty before autumn.
Wimbledon also received a visit from the royal family.
Earlier this month, Prince and Princess of Wales also brought George and Charlotte to Wimbledon, where the kids enjoyed front row seating in the gentleman’s singles final at the Royal Box.
Charlotte and William have previously shown support for the women’s team in England by sending a joint video message to hope for the team’s luck before the big game. But this time, Charlotte didn’t just send a message – she created the entrance to the royal family.
Fans can hope to see more of her at future famous events as the young princess is already increasing her love for the sport – and she is soon becoming a crowd favorite.
