NThe 2026 World Cup is taking shape. The playoffs have effectively ended, leaving 48 teams in the 12 groups for the first World Cup.
After months of qualifying, final-day drama and playoffs around the world, the tournament, hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada, will feature a format for the first time in which the top two teams in each group and the top eight third-place teams advance.
What are the groups for the 2026 World Cup?
Sweden, Turkey, Czech Republic, Bosnia, Democratic Republic of the Congo and Iraq will be the final teams to qualify for the World Cup after the UEFA playoffs and intercontinental play-offs on Tuesday, March 31st.
