Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has not ruled out captain Bruno Guimarães leaving the club this summer, having held talks with the player this summer. Speaking after the pre-season draw with Gateshead, Howe said: “I spoke to him normally.
“Bruno is a great guy and we had very good conversations before, during and after the World Cup. What we say has to remain confidential. He’s a great player and a great person.”
“I don’t know what the future holds for Bruno. That’s for others to speculate, but also the conversations that I’m not a part of.”
Arsenal are understood to be keen to sign the Brazil international, who starred for his country at the World Cup, but a prior verbal offer of £45 million was immediately rejected by the Magpies.
