Liverpool are one of the clubs linked with Paris Saint-Germain star Bradley Barcola and are looking for a replacement for Mo Salah, but the deal could be costly, forcing the Reds to look elsewhere
Liverpool are considering Juventus star Francisco Conceição as a replacement for Bradley Barcola, who could cost up to £140m. The Reds are hoping to add a wide range of options this summer after Mohamed Salah left the club a year before his contract expired.
Liverpool completed the signing of Spanish wideman Victor Muñoz for £34.5m last month, but are still hoping to sign another forward. Bayern Munich’s Michael Oliseh has been rumored to be available, but the German giants are reluctant to sell him.
Leipzig’s Yann Diomande was also an option, but it now appears that he is set to move to Real Madrid. Paris Saint-Germain’s Barcola has also emerged as a priority target, but the French club’s £140m price tag is troubling for the Merseysiders.
As a result, Liverpool have been forced to look elsewhere. Juventus’ Conceição is seen as a cheaper option and has already been in contact with his agent about a deal, according to reports in Italy.
As things stand, Juventus are not keen on selling him as they only spent £27.3m on signing him on a permanent basis last summer after his loan move from Porto. However, it is thought that an offer of around €50m (about £42.6m) could be enough to secure him.
This is not the first time Liverpool have been linked with a raid on Conceição. Although his name was mentioned during last season, the Portugal international remained tight-lipped about his future.
“I know people are talking about big clubs, but I’m playing for a big club where I’m happy. At the moment I’m just focusing on these two games with the national team, and then I’ll focus on the end of the season to help the club as much as possible,” he said.
“I’m at a big club where the pressure to win is very high. I just have to keep working and contributing with goals and assists.
“My goal is to contribute with goals and assists and that’s what I’m trying to do. I have to continue every day to show that I have the ability to help the national team and continue to grow with their help.”
Conceição, 23, has made 82 appearances for Juventus, scoring 11 goals in all competitions. His contract with the Italian giants is scheduled to run until the summer of 2030.
