RB Leipzig’s Yann Diomande is in high demand this summer, but following efforts from Liverpool and PSG, Real Madrid look set to join the race with a mega-offer

Real Madrid have joined the party and are looking to sign Yann Diomande from RB Leipzig, with the Spanish giants poised to outbid PSG and Liverpool.
The Ivorian winger was expected to leave all summer, but remains on the German side’s books for now. Now that they have returned from the World Cup, negotiations have accelerated and Los Blancos are poised to raise more money than the Parisians.
Diomande had been on the radar of Liverpool as they look to replace Mohamed Salah, but the Leipzig star has made it clear he wants to move to Paris, and Sky Germany reports he has agreed a deal with the club.
So far, the European champions have yet to offer a price that would convince Leipzig to cash in, but The Athletic reports that Real are ready to get involved and outbid both rivals in terms of money for a winger to replace Brahim Dias.
Liverpool have made an approach for Diomande this summer, but the Bundesliga side are holding out for a hefty €130m (about £111m) transfer fee before they are given the green light to sell the player. The Reds are also eyeing PSG’s Bradley Barcola, but a move could have been had the French side signed Diomand, but that is now in doubt.
Diomande only joined Leipzig a year ago from Spanish side Leganes but has proven to be a sensation, with the German side hoping to make a huge profit or tie him to a new contract. They continue to expect him to remain at the club beyond the summer period.
“Our clear intention is for Yann Diomande to play for RB Leipzig next year,” the club’s managing director of sport, Marcel Schaefer, said of the winger’s future.

Diomande played in all four games for Ivory Coast during the World Cup, helping them advance to the Round of 32. Last season, he scored 12 goals and provided nine assists in 33 Bundesliga games as Leipzig finished third and returned to the Champions League.
Madrid have been busy over the summer since Jose Mourinho was announced to return as manager. Bernardo Silva and Ibrahima Konate joined on free transfers, while Denzel Dumfries and Marc Cucurella were also signed.
If they do choose to pay top dollar for Diomande, Leipzig’s acquisition would make him the biggest sale in the club’s history, surpassing what Manchester United paid for Benjamin Sexo in 2025 and Josko Gvardiol, who joined Manchester City in 2023.
