Manchester United are reportedly considering a possible move for long-term transfer target Carlos Baleva. The Red Devils have already signed two midfielders this summer, with Andrej Santos and Youri Tielemans joining the club earlier this month. However, they are still pursuing the addition of a third player to replace Casemiro, who left at the end of last season.
According to Sky Sports, talks are already under consideration for Brighton’s ace, but formal contact between the clubs has yet to take place.
United were in the process of signing Baleva last summer, but Brighton’s nine-figure offer meant they were unable to get the deal over the line.
It remains to be seen whether the Seagulls will lower their demands considering Baleva struggled at times last season. However, he is still thought to be a target for United.
The report adds that Manu Khon remains a player of interest to the Red Devils, who are tentatively considering contract terms.
The midfielder has emerged as a target for a number of European clubs, but United are thought to be leading the race to sign him. However, any suggestion that a transition is imminent is said to be premature.
Alex Scott has also been mooted as a potential signing, but Bournemouth reportedly have no intention of selling him after he turned down a new deal at the Vitality Stadium.
Another Bournemouth player, Tyler Adams, is also thought to be on United’s midfield shortlist.
They are in no rush to sign a third midfield player just yet, with club leaders taking their time to consider all options and decide on the best option to pursue.
United are also looking to improve other areas of their squad ahead of the new Premier League season, which starts next month.
