Arsenal will have to pivot in the transfer window with Morgan Rodgers joining Chelsea, but the Premier League champions are closing in on a new attacker

Christos Tzoris’ £34m move to Arsenal is almost complete, with the Greek winger flying to London for a medical before officially putting pen to paper.

The Gunners are looking to revamp the left side of their attack this summer and moved quickly to sign Tzoris as a replacement for popular Leandro Trossard, who joined Vestikas in a £15.3m deal last week. And while it remains likely that Arsenal will sign a high-profile player competing for the left wing spot, Tzoris joins the Emirates after an impressive season.

He won the Belgian title with Club Brugge last season, making 52 appearances in all competitions for Club Brugge, scoring an impressive 22 goals and providing a further 29 assists.

Tzoris is also no stranger to the Premier League, having spent three years in the top flight with Norwich City.

The 24-year-old is poised to become Arsenal’s third signing of the summer, but the club will need to pivot to finding a new first-choice left-handed attacker with Morgan Rodgers joining Chelsea.

The England star became Arsenal’s priority target this summer after his impressive spell at Aston Villa. Villa have signed a £117m deal to part ways with their attacking talisman.

Rodgers had long-term offers from both London clubs, with Arsenal widely considered to be the frontrunners to sign him.

However, Arsenal were not willing to live up to Aston Villa’s assessment of the 23-year-old. And Mirror Football understands that Rodgers was prepared to pay a premium on top of the £80m figure he was valued at, but was beaten back by Chelsea, who have been chasing the versatile attacking midfielder for more than two years.

With Rodgers now a Chelsea player, it remains to be seen where Arsenal will go next to level up their left attacking position.

They are said to be interested in Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, but with the European champions valuing the Frenchman in excess of £100m, a package to bring him to London could end up costing as much as Chelsea paid for Rodgers.
