The World Cup final between Spain and Argentina ended in a dramatic ending, with Ferran Torres’ goal clinching victory, and two South American players, including Leandro Paredes, being sent off.

Spanish star Lamine Yamal mocked Leandro Paredes with a fake boxing match days after their brawl at the World Cup final. The European nation qualified for the World Cup on Sunday in New Jersey, with Ferran Torres’ goal in extra time clinching victory.

Argentina also had two players sent off, with Enzo Fernandes sent off for two offenses including a nasty tackle on Pau Kvarsi. Paredes clashed with both Eric Garcia and Gabi after the full-time whistle and was sent off in a fit of rage.

During Spain’s open-top bus parade, Yamal appeared to mock the Argentina midfielder by holding a placard that read “Verada del Ano VII: Paredes vs. Gav.”

Verada del Ano is a boxing event similar to the British Misfits. Paredes, 32, spoke out in the aftermath of Argentina’s heartbreak at the World Cup but refused to apologize for his actions.

He wrote on social media: “Thank you Argentina!!! I love you today and always.

“Today, I write this letter with a heavy heart because I am unable to bring much joy to this country, but my heart is filled with pride for giving everything we have and once again raising our flag atop the mountain.

“Thank you to everyone who was part of this national team, to the players who gave their all to represent this shirt and fought for it until the last moment of the game! It was an honor to be part of the greatest Argentina national team of all time.”

Elsewhere, FIFA has opened an investigation into the incident after potential disciplinary violations were identified.

In a statement, world soccer’s governing body said: “Following an evaluation of the relevant match report for the FIFA World Cup final between Spain and Argentina, the FIFA Disciplinary Commission has appointed a Disciplinary and Ethics Prosecutor to investigate possible violations of the FDC in relation to post-match incidents, in accordance with article 36 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code (FDC).”

“Further details will be provided by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee once the prosecutor’s report is complete.”

Paredes isn’t the only player who could run into trouble after the final at MetLife Stadium. Teammate Nahuel Molina was also seen throwing a punch at Rodri as he ran to celebrate with his Spanish teammates at the final whistle.
