Manchester United are said to be considering an offer of 60 million euros (approximately 5.1 billion yen) to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery. Old Trafford bosses first explored the possibility of signing him in 2023 when he was just 17 years old, and are now eyeing him as a potential third midfield signing this summer.

Andrej Santos and Youri Tielemans have already been signed for a total of £85m, with AS Roma’s Manu Korn and Bournemouth’s Alex Scott emerging as further targets. With the likes of Sandro Tonali, Elliott Anderson and Matheus Fernandes commanding big transfer fees, United will almost certainly need to spend big to bring in any new signings, and Zaire-Emery could be the answer.

The 20-year-old finds himself on the periphery at PSG, which could give United an advantage in contract negotiations. According to French newspaper Top Mercato, he is highly regarded within the club and a €60m (about £51m) approach is “in preparation” to test PSG’s desire to sell him.

The report further states that the European champions value him at close to €80m (approximately £68m). Zaire-Emery played 54 games in the 2025/26 season and then played 109 minutes for France at the World Cup.

It remains unclear whether manager Zair Emery, who has featured prominently in both midfield and right-back, could leave the French capital. However, injuries to Fabian Ruiz and Achraf Hakimi gave him extra minutes, but coach Luis Enrique returned him to the substitute bench for PSG’s most important match after these players regained fitness.

United players are also considering forwards, with Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye and Crisencio Somerville emerging as possible signings. The latter looked set to move to AS Roma, but a surprise offer of €80 million (approximately £68 million) was accepted and he opted for a move to Al Hilal in the Saudi Professional League instead.

United’s interest in the Dutch winger has waned in recent weeks, with any move now dependent on Marcus Rashford’s future. He looks set to remain at his boyhood club, as Barcelona have signed Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi on permanent deals.

United will begin the 2026/27 season away to newly promoted Hull City. Pre-season preparations have already begun and Rashford could feature in one or two friendlies once he returns from his forced break after the World Cup.
