Norway 1-2 England: Jude Bellingham saves England again with a brace to send the Three Lions into the last four of the World Cup.
A brace from national hero Jude Bellingham propelled England into the World Cup semi-finals in Atlanta on Wednesday.
The Three Lions made a bold comeback and showed their mental strength once again, putting them in a pinch in the first half of overtime.
Norway, who also had a goal chalked away, took the lead in the 36th minute when Jordan Pickford misjudged a powerful cross from Andreas Schjelderup and sent it flying past the post.
Bellingham then took center stage, first scoring an equalizing goal, but Norway claimed this should not have taken place as the ball appeared to have touched the “spider cam” cable during the build-up.
Bellingham then scored the winning goal, tying him with Gary Lineker for the most non-penalty goals (six) for England in a single major competition.
Here’s how England players rated in Miami…
jordan pickford 6
This was his record-breaking appearance (his 18th World Cup appearance for England) and he will never want to see Schjerderup score again. He was edgy at times.
Ezri Konsa 7
The player placed at right-back could not contribute much to the forward progress, but he made a heroic clearance.
john stones 8
Although looking a little nervous at times, he felt better and Haaland kept quiet and made a heroic effort.
Marc Gehi 8
Obviously not at full fitness as he took a break from training this week and never stopped fighting. wonderful.
Nico O’Reilly 7
He started well and was definitely the better of the two full-backs. He looked defeated, so he remained silent.
Declan Rice 6
He missed training this week and, as expected, wasn’t at his best. He came on as a substitute at halftime.
Elliot Anderson 8
He had a great game with his new Man City teammate Haaland. A superhuman effort to keep running. wonderful.
Noni Madueke 5
I was hooked at halftime. I was very frustrated because I wasted a good opportunity. I’m disappointed again.
jude bellingham 9
When England needed a hero, Bellingham rose again. These men deserve knighthood.
anthony gordon 7
He assisted on Bellingham’s goal and got even better and more dangerous as the game went on.
harry kane 8
He gave his heart and soul to the team, but was denied by an offside flag and stopped voluntarily.
