Premier League televised fixtures announced, with Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool all set to be rescheduled for September
The Manchester derby has been rescheduled for broadcast after the Premier League decided to broadcast it on TV in September. The match, which pits Michael Carrick against Enzo Maresca, will be the first without Pep Guardiola in 10 years.
The game was moved to Sunday, September 13th instead of Saturday. United’s matches against Ipswich, Everton and Fulham have also all been rescheduled to the next day of their original dates.
Meanwhile, City face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Friday night, but otherwise have games remaining against Coventry and Sunderland at 3pm on Saturday.
Arsenal and Chelsea both had three games moved. The Gunners face Aston Villa on Monday August 31st and Sunderland on September 12th at 8pm.
Mikel Arteta’s side will face Chelsea in an early London derby on Sunday, September 6. The Blues have swapped their games against Brighton and Brentford, with the former on Sunday and the latter on Friday night, although this could be moved to Saturday night, depending on their opponents in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
Liverpool’s new manager Andoni Iraola believes three matches have been changed due to television broadcasters. The first home game of the season against Nottingham Forest will be broadcast on Saturday 29th August at 12.30pm, followed by a match against Ipswich the following Friday night.
Many of this season’s Premier League matches will fall outside the traditional Saturday slot, with nine teams taking part in European competition in 2026/27.
Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Aston Villa and Liverpool will be in the Champions League, Bournemouth, Sunderland and Crystal Palace will be in the Europa League and Brighton will be in the qualifying round of the Conference League.
That could mean more Monday and Friday night games throughout the season, with the likes of Chelsea, Newcastle and Tottenham out of European competition.
