The Manchester derby has been rearranged for television broadcast as the Premier League announced its broadcast schedule for September. The match will be the first without Pep Guardiola in 10 years and will pit Michael Carrick against Enzo Maresca. The talks were postponed to Sunday, September 13th instead of Saturday. United’s games against Ipswich, Everton and Fulham have also all been rescheduled to the following day from their original schedule.

Meanwhile, City face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Friday night, while games against Coventry and Sunderland take place from 3pm on Saturday. Arsenal and Chelsea have each had three games rescheduled. The Gunners face Aston Villa on Monday August 31st and Sunderland on September 12th at 8pm. Mikel Arteta’s side face Chelsea in an early London derby on Sunday, September 6th.

The Blues have moved their games against Brighton and Brentford, with the former moved to Sunday and the latter to be played on Friday night. However, depending on the opponents in the third round of the Carabao Cup, it may be rescheduled to Saturday night, the 19th.

Liverpool’s new manager Andoni Iraola has arranged three games for television broadcasters. The season’s home opener against Nottingham Forest is scheduled to be shown at 12.30pm on Saturday 29 August, before playing Ipswich next Friday night.

A significant number of this season’s Premier League matches will be moved outside the usual Saturday slot, with nine clubs set to face each other in Europe in 2026/27.

Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Aston Villa and Liverpool will take part in the Champions League, while Bournemouth, Sunderland and Crystal Palace will qualify for the Europa League and Brighton will play in the Conference League qualification round.

As a result, the likes of Chelsea, Newcastle and Tottenham are likely to play more Monday and Friday night games throughout the campaign, as they do not have any European commitments.
