Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard could leave the club this summer after helping the Gunners win the Premier League last season.
Leandro Trossard will assess his future at Arsenal after the World Cup.
The 31-year-old is entering the final year of his contract at the Emirates Stadium and his newly rebranded agency FOKUS is inquiring about client availability.
Besiktas have identified Trossard as one of their top summer targets, having tried to sign him last September. Sources close to the Turkish club say they have already made a verbal offer worth up to €20m (about £17.25m) for the winger.
If the player shows interest in a move, Arsenal would consider him financially acceptable. For now, Trossard has his focus firmly on Belgium’s World Cup performance as they prepare for their Round of 32 match against Senegal in Seattle.
The camp has already made it clear that it does not want any distractions during the tournament in North America.
He wants to see out the final year of his contract at Arsenal, but with the Gunners looking for a new left-winger, possibly two, it is thought to be realistic enough to know that a move could well be considered.
At this stage in his career, he wants to play regularly and has to consider that his next big contract will be his last.
Al Diryah of the Saudi Professional League have also shown an interest in the Belgian, but the player may decide he still wants to remain in Europe’s top five leagues.
A number of Italian clubs, including Roma, approached Trossard last year, with Turkish giants Fenerbahce also previously making an attempt to sign the former Brighton attacker.
A few weeks ago, Trossard was asked about his future ahead of Belgium’s World Cup warm-up match against Tunisia.
“At the moment I’m still at Arsenal so there’s not much to say about that,” he said.
The player was later asked if he would stay with the Premier League champions and said: “At the moment yes. At the moment I’m still at Arsenal and we’ll see what happens.”
Trossard scored eight goals and provided 11 assists in all competitions last season, starting in the Champions League final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest.
He was in great form at the World Cup, scoring two goals and providing one assist for Belgium.
He was handed a pay rise last summer to reflect his importance to Mikel Arteta’s side, but although changes were made to the terms of his contract, the length of his contract remained the same.
