David Beckham’s actions in Scotland vs. Brazil caused a huge stir on social media
Sir David Beckham caused a stir on social media last night as Scotland lost to Brazil in the World Cup. The Manchester United legend was caught on camera drinking an oversized glass of red wine in the stands at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.
He watched as Scotland suffered a heavy defeat to Carlo Ancelotti’s side, putting their hopes of progressing into the final stages of the tournament in serious jeopardy. Vinicius Junior scored twice against Scotland, while Man United forward Matheus Cunha scored his third after the break.
Still, it was the enormity of Beckham’s wine glass that had fans chatting on social media as the game unfolded. The England icon looked as stylish as ever as he took a sip from his giant glass.

“David Beckham with a fishbowl of red wine,” one fan posted on social media. Another said: “Did you see David Beckham take a sip of red wine from the biggest glass ever?”
One fan said: “David Beckham has the biggest wine glass I’ve ever seen!”
Temperatures in Miami soared well above 30 degrees, and one fan couldn’t understand Beckham’s drink choice. They said, “David Beckham’s choice of red wine in that humidity was crazy.”
Scotland endured a dismal start to the game after Scott McKenna’s early blunder allowed Brazil to take the lead against the five-time world champions, but Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn admits his team will need a miracle to progress to the finals.
“This is how I feel right now,” he said after the final whistle. “That’s not how you want to go out either. You’re probably going to be sore tonight, you’re going to be sore tomorrow, and then you’re going to be quiet.
“If we’re going to get to the last 32, if we’re going to pull off a miracle, we’re going to have to be better, we know that. If you don’t take care of the ball in important moments and you make mistakes, you get punished. That’s club football and international football.”

“Brazil punished us tonight. Overall I don’t think they gave us too much of an opening. It was kind of a self-inflicted mistake and I think the scoreline was reasonable.”
“That put us in a bad position from the morning. We gave ourselves a good base for qualifying, but tonight we made it very difficult. There’s no getting around that.”
“A lot needs to go our way and we hope that, but if we manage to get through it, we need to be better.”
