British WAGs supporting rival teams at World Cup, including former TV star Mbappe | Soccer | Sports

It is the 20th anniversary of the WAGs World Cup, which saw the wives and girlfriends of England players cause havoc in Baden-Baden during the 2006 tournament. It was seen as the pinnacle of WAG culture, with the likes of Victoria Beckham, Cheryl Cole and Abbey Clancy attracting as much attention as the events on the pitch.

Things have calmed down since then, but in the age of social media, WAGs have come back into the spotlight, with some enjoying a larger online presence than their partners. And for these WAGs, there’s no better stage than the World Cup terraces to flaunt their status.

But while the country is excited about Thomas Tuchel’s Three Lions, some British women will be supporting rival teams at the World Cup. As the tournament in North America enters its final stages, Express Sport takes a look at some of England’s WAGs who support various teams outside of England.

Kelsi Rose – Marcos Senesi

Kelsi Rose is not only the girlfriend of current Argentina national team ace Marcos Senesi, but she is also an actual soccer player herself. Rose played for Bournemouth under Senesi before leaving the Cherries for Tottenham. Senesi was not initially selected for Argentina’s World Cup squad, but was called up due to an injury late in the game.

Taylor Ward – Riyad Mahrez

Depending on who you ask, you may know more about Taylor Ward than her partner Riyad Mahrez. Taylor, the daughter of Cheshire Housewives icon Dawn Ward, has carved out a reality career of her own, co-starring with flame Mahrez in both seasons of Amazon Prime’s Game and Marriage. Taylor is often spotted at the former Manchester City star’s matches wearing the colors of Algeria and his club Al Ahly, which coincidentally are exactly the same!

Antoine Semenyo – Jordyn Buckley

Former City star turned Blues ace Antoine Semenyo had a memorable season last year, but despite being born in London, he is Ghana’s leading forward. As such, his partner Jordyn Buckley is often seen following him around the world to support Ghana. She is reportedly a social media influencer and an aspiring entrepreneur, running the London-based beauty service Jrose Nail Bar.

Manuel Ugarte – Georgia May Heath

And finally, Manuel Ugarte’s World Cup ended in disaster after he suffered a terrible injury in the final match in Uruguay. His partner is also a British woman, Georgia May Heath, who was originally linked to Real Madrid sensation Kylian Mbappé. That was back in 2021, but the Englishman went public with his relationship with current Manchester United star Manuel Ugarte in January 2025.
