The England squad relaxed with an outdoor yoga session after the match against Ghana.
Jude Bellingham, 22, Nico O’Reilly, 21, Jordan Pickford, 32, and Mark Gehi, 25, were among those who attended the outdoor session at a park across the street from the Inn at Meadowbrook in Prairie Village, Kansas.
The message posted by the FA was, “Please rest.” Recover. Please try again. ‘It has become part of the routine of modern English tournaments.
The Three Lions Euro 2024 team celebrated International Day of Yoga at the luxurious Weimaler Land spa and golf resort in Germany, with Dr Rebecca Jade Lawrence guiding them through their paces, positions and poses.
Rebecca taught yoga to England’s players, allowing them to breathe, stretch and meditate during their recovery sessions.
After the lesson, she wrote on Instagram: “Wow, thank you to the England football team for inviting me to teach yoga as part of the recovery process at Euro 2024. Yoga is a great tool and practice that can contribute to an athlete’s recovery and performance in many ways.”
Barcelona striker Anthony Gordon says meditation helps him cope with the pressures of life as a footballer. In his first World Cup, Gordon told the FA’s Lion’s Den podcast that he uses relaxation techniques to stay calm.
He explained how he learned Spanish while working with backroom staff at both Newcastle United and Everton. But he denied that learning languages made him an intellectual. He added: “Right now I’m just trying to cherish the memories and make them special.”
