Here’s everything you need to know about what happened late Sunday night and early Monday morning at the World Cup…

England and head coach Thomas Tuchel received a major injury boost ahead of the second group game against Ghana, where Bukayo Saka was training with the team. The Three Lions will aim to maximize points and qualify for the next stage of the World Cup, but the Arsenal winger’s appearance will be a boost after he has been ruled out by injury. Departed Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah made history by leading Egypt to their first World Cup victory. The 34-year-old scored and provided an assist as the Pharaohs came from behind to beat New Zealand 3-1 and move to the top of Group G. The Pharaohs will take on Iran on Friday as they aim to qualify for the knockout stages of this prestigious international tournament. However, Belgium suffered a goalless draw and was criticized by former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane as “rubbish”. Before kickoff in Los Angeles, all eyes were on the Iranian national team. The national anthem was again booed by those in attendance, and captain Alireza Jahanbakhsh addressed the incident. Jeremy Doku missed the game with a chest infection, but the Belgium and Manchester City star remains in the headlines as the furor over his impending absence continues. With the birth of their first child on the horizon, L’Equipe host France Pierron verbally abused the winger, but reports say she has been suspended for her abuse. Uruguay came from behind to draw with inferior Cape Verde, overcoming a near-fatal scare. The Cape Verdians took the lead with a long-range free kick from Kevin Pina, and two goals at the end of the first half gave the South American team the lead. But Marcelo Bielsa’s side shot themselves in the foot when they were punished by Helio Varela, who equalized after a disastrous display. Darwin Nunez, expected to make a sensational return to Liverpool, tried to make a difference but continued to struggle and was unable to save his country from a humiliating result.
