Arsenal are reportedly stepping up efforts to sign Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouadi, with the Gunners reportedly considering a £60m deal for the 18-year-old.
Arsenal are reportedly targeting a move for Lille star Ayyoub Bouadi. The Gunners are currently preparing for the upcoming Premier League season, but first they must deal with the unpredictability that the summer transfer window inevitably brings.
Mikel Arteta’s side aim to retain the league title next season and have already been touted on a list of potential new arrivals to the Emirates.
Bouadi’s future has been the subject of feverish speculation for quite some time, but new reports have emerged that Arsenal are targeting the 18-year-old midfielder.
According to Sky Sports, the Gunners are interested in Bouadi and have been quietly exploring a potential deal to bring the teenager to north London for several months.
However, Paris Saint-Germain are also thought to be in contention for Bouadi, with the midfielder reportedly hoping to move to the Parc des Princes.
The paper goes on to report that Arsenal are confident of taking on PSG in the race for the midfielder, with Lille valuing the player at around €70m (about £60m).
The Gunners are expected to hold further talks to secure Bouadi’s availability after the World Cup.
Arsenal are said to have a strong relationship with Lille chairman Olivier LeTang, and that relationship could give the north London club a decisive advantage in their chances of signing Bouadi.

It remains to be seen what signings Arsenal will complete this summer, but a number of players have already caught the Gunners’ attention.
The report also suggests that Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali remains a target for Arsenal this summer.
The forwards seem to be the area that has generated the most transfer speculation so far, with Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Crupi and Aston Villa playmaker Morgan Rodgers both linked as candidates for a move to the Emirates.

Further reports emerged on Friday that Club Brugge’s Christos Tzoris has emerged as a player to watch for Arsenal ahead of the summer season.
The Greek international has impressed during his time in Belgium, scoring 43 goals in all competitions and netting 23 times in his only season with Fortuna Düsseldorf.
However, The Athletic reports that the possibility of signing Tsooris would not hinder Arsenal’s ambitions to sign Rodgers from Villa this summer.
