Arsenal are reportedly planning a £34m move to strengthen Mikel Arteta’s squad as they look to defend their Premier League title.
Arsenal are preparing to make a £34m bid for Club Brugge winger Christos Tzoris after an excellent season. The 24-year-old scored an astonishing 43 goals over two seasons with Club Brugge and also found the back of the net 23 times for German second-tier Fortuna Düsseldorf in 2023-24.
The Athletic reports that the Gunners are looking to sign the Greek international and that the winger’s swoop has no bearing on a potential signing for Morgan Rodgers. Mikel Arteta’s side are keen to inject quality into their attacking third, with both Rodgers and Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola linked.
Either case could result in a fee approaching £80m, which would mean another big outlay from Arsenal’s hierarchy.

Football London reports that they released around £250m in last summer’s transfer window, securing the signatures of Victor Gökeres, Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke to strengthen their forward options.
However, Arteta is determined to continue strengthening his squad and wants to strengthen the left side of his attack. The Gunners also reportedly approached Juventus about the possibility of signing Turkish international Kenan Yildiz, but were informed that he was not for sale.
Tzoris’ move represents smart business considering his impressive performances in recent campaigns, and he has already expressed his desire to join the Champions League club.
When asked by Nieuwsblad last month what kind of club would be attracted to him by Club Brugge, Tzoris replied: “It would be a Champions League team from England, Germany, Spain or Italy.”
“Or if PSG come knocking, I’ll go too, right? (laughs). Then I’ll say I love France. But in France, only PSG is a better option than Club Brugge. Maybe there’s a little more potential in the Premier League.”
England international Rodgers has attracted the attention of Arsenal this summer, with manager Arteta reportedly hoping the club can secure the 23-year-old, who starred for Aston Villa this season.
Rodgers is currently away from the Three Lions and looks set to feature heavily in manager Thomas Tuchel’s plans.
After losing to PSG in the Champions League final, Arteta urged Arsenal’s board to make its intentions known.

After the loss, he said, “I’m going to spend a few days with my family first and then start the process of reviewing what we’ve done.”
“If we want to reach another level, we will have to make some very important decisions.
“We have to show that ambition because we are more than capable of doing that, but it requires us to be very ambitious, very fast and very smart.”
