After watching England beat Costa Rica 3-0 in the Three Lions’ final pre-World Cup warm-up game, Mirror chief football writer John Cross said:

Hello, this is John Cross from Orlando. England finished in 3rd place and Costa Rica in 0th place. And I have to say it was probably as good a preparation as England could have hoped for. Declan Rice scores. Anthony Gordon scored one and Ollie Watkins secured the win.

And the traveling England fans were just amazing, really great, and at the end they were shouting, “We’re coming back!”

Do they believe they can absolutely win the World Cup? Well, they can dream. They might actually take a bit of a boost from this performance, as it felt like a long way off from last weekend’s win against New Zealand.
