Florentino Perez publicly announced on Tuesday that if he is re-elected as president, he will launch a huge bid of 150 million euros (about £130 million) for a “great player” to join Real Madrid. He has made it clear that his target is a “Galactico-level” attacking player currently playing for a Champions League club outside the Premier League, and in an interview with Spanish TV show Horizonte, Perez ruled out several high-profile players to narrow down his transfer targets. He said the mystery signing was not Manchester City’s Erling Haaland or Jeremy Dok, nor Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane. Despite Perez publicly denying that Michael Oliseh is a target, the Telegraph reported that the 24-year-old Bayern Munich winger is exactly the president’s priority. Incoming manager Jose Mourinho (Madrid’s appointment depends on winning the election, and Perez’s appointment depends on winning the election) has been spotted scouting in Germany and is reportedly pushing for this pursuit. Bayern’s honorary president Uli Hoeness has said that the French international is “unsellable”, and any attempt to sign Olise will likely lead to a major transfer battle. Olise has a long-term contract in Germany until 2029, so Real Madrid will have to forcibly test Bayern’s resolve with a record-breaking valuation. Portuguese media outlet Record reported that Paris Saint-Germain star midfielder Vicinha is the most unexpected player Perez could use to secure the election. According to reports, announcing the signing of Vicinha before voting begins on Sunday will be a decisive blow for Perez’s opponent Enrique Riquelme. High-profile agent Jorge Mendes is reportedly keen to help his star client Vicinha play under manager Jose Mourinho at the Bernabéu. The midfielder still has three years left on his contract with PSG, but has a €115m (£99.3m) release clause that Real Madrid can trigger.
