Harry Kane looks to be at the pinnacle of his career, wants to lead England to World Cup glory and will do everything he can to end a 60-year blemish
Harry Kane has admitted he envisioned himself lifting the World Cup this summer. England captain Kane said his ambition to deliver a trophy this summer was greater than ever and he still dreamed of winning the biggest prize.
Kane says he uses visualization techniques like many top sports stars – and lifting the World Cup is his biggest dream, Bayern Munich star told L’Equipe:
“I try to imagine the stadium I’ll play in, the type of opponent I’ll play against, my position on the pitch and what chances I’ll create. But I’d be lying if I said I never imagined myself lifting the World Cup.”
“The ambition, of course, is to win. That has to be our goal. We know it’s not easy, but in recent years we’ve come a lot closer to winning major tournaments. We’ve reached two Euro finals (2021 and 2024), a World Cup semi-final (2018) and a quarter-final (2022).”

“This year we have a new head coach and some new players. This type of competition inevitably brings a lot of pressure, but it’s an exciting time.
“The key is to create some kind of ‘bubble’ during the tournament and distance yourself from what I call ‘external noise’. There are always pundits, newspapers, podcasts… If you listen to or read all that, you’ll drive yourself crazy.”
“So you have to be clear about the team’s goals and the means to achieve them. You have to train well and foster a protective environment within training camp that doesn’t crumble at the first setback.”

Kane praised England manager Thomas Tuchel and the relationship, bond and understanding he has built at Bayern Munich, and insisted England can handle the pressure.
He added: “At Bayern I really liked his personality, his ideas for the team and the way he used me on the pitch. In a way, he transferred those methods very well to the national team.”
