Josep Guardiola will have no shortage of offers in the coming months, but he wants to focus on his family during his football break and has no interest in managing David Beckham’s Inter Miami team.
Pep Guardiola will ignore a surprising approach from new Inter Miami manager Sir David Beckham.
Inter Miami co-owner Beckham has made Guardiola his first choice to replace Javier Mascherano, who resigned last month. Since Mascherano’s departure, Beckham and the Inter Miami leadership have held off on appointing a replacement, waiting to see if Guardiola can be persuaded to take over as manager of the American side.
Beckham knows that inviting Guardiola to the club would be a dramatic coup for Inter and MLS as a whole.
The Spaniard would also be reunited with Lionel Messi, who played under him at Barcelona, which would of course greatly increase Inter’s marketing appeal. However, Guardiola revealed that Beckham was wasting his time trying to convince him to return to football immediately.
Guardiola stepped down as Manchester City manager at the end of the season after 10 years of dominating play at the Etihad. He is determined to take a break from gaming to spend time with his loved ones and recharge his batteries.

Inter’s leaders would have hoped to have the opportunity to speak directly to Guardiola during the World Cup. However, it is understood that manager Guardiola has no plans to travel to this summer’s tournament.
Guardiola has told close friends that he wants his next managerial job to be international. And the fact that he is able to play again is drawing attention even within the Football Association.
FA leaders had hoped to make Guardiola the next England manager following Gareth Southgate’s resignation in 2024, but it was unrealistic to strike a deal at the time.
However, he still has their attention and will be the front-runner to replace Thomas Tuchel in the future. Tuchel is contracted to lead England to Euro 2028 but knows his job is in jeopardy if the Three Lions fail at this summer’s World Cup.
Meanwhile, manager Guardiola is said to be attracted to the role of the England national team and would seriously consider taking him on if offered in the future.
