Around 75 people had to be rescued from heights during Arsenal’s victory parade, according to the London Fire Brigade (LFB).

Fans climbed trees, rooftops and traffic lights to catch a glimpse of their heroes as the team bus passed by.

LFB said its crew had rescued “approximately 75 people” from a high-altitude accident during the event, and urged fans not to climb onto the roof as celebrations continued tonight.

Fire officials also announced that crews attended a fire at the hotel that appeared to be caused by a stray smoke bomb.

“Fortunately, the fire caused only minor damage to the exterior of the building,” Deputy Commissioner Pat Goulborn said.

“It is believed that pyrotechnics also triggered fire alarms at several other locations in the area.

“As supporters return home, we urge them to avoid using fireworks, especially at train stations, and to keep them away from buildings and other flammable objects.”

Goulbourne also said the celebrations were a “fantastic spectacle”, with many fans “celebrating the club’s achievements in a safe manner”.
