Martin Odegaard insists he wants to remain at Arsenal for “many years to come”.

Gunners captain Odegaard has struggled for form and injury this season, and with two years remaining on his contract this summer, his future is in doubt. But Odegaard insists he wants to stay at the Emirates and enjoy further success following his success in winning the Champions League final and Premier League title.

He said: “There’s nothing to say at the moment. I’m under contract here and I’m really happy here and hopefully I can stay for many years.”

The Norwegian midfielder was substituted in the second half but admitted it was tough watching the Champions League final and how it unfolded.

He added: “Games like this are decided by close margins. That’s the reality of football and we have to deal with that.”

“I thought we started the game very well, we got the first goal and then we defended really well. Obviously PSG had more of the ball, but we didn’t really create anything. And of course we scored with a penalty.”

“I thought it was a pretty close game after that. We had momentum, they had momentum. It was close, but we did everything we could.

“Of course, it’s tough to watch from the sidelines with such a close margin, and it’s cruel to end up doing nothing even though you want to win so much.

“Again, it’s part of football, but we’ve done some incredible things this season, and we’re almost here, and we’ll be back next year.”

“Last year we reached the semi-finals and this year we reached the final, but it’s really disappointing that we didn’t win. I hope to go one step further next year and win the championship.”
