Manchester City vs Liverpool - Emirates FA Cup Quarter Final

The soccer season is almost over, and attention is gradually turning to this summer’s World Cup. Players from across Europe’s leagues will head to North America to claim soccer’s biggest prize money.

However, as preparations for the tournament progress, the transfer market continues to heat up behind the scenes, with deals already beginning to be finalized. A number of big-name stars are expected to move on this summer as teams pull out their checkbooks to splash the cash.

But this summer, more than any other, there may be some big moves that don’t involve any exchange of cash. That’s because there are many high-profile free agents who can be transferred for zero fees. Express Sport has rounded up all the big free agents who are still looking for a new club.

One of the talking points last weekend was Bernardo Silva’s departure from Manchester City. The tricky playmaker spent nine years at East Manchester, becoming a key figure in the Pep Guardiola era. He’s talked about moving closer to home in Portugal, including Barcelona (yes, that’s Spain, but it’s much warmer than Manchester). But what if a top Premier League club took the chance instead?

Speaking of which, Mohamed Salah has been one of the faces of the Premier League for a while now, but he recently said an emotional farewell to Liverpool. He will turn 34 in June, which could put off potential suitors, but there is no denying that the Egyptian remains a top-flight player.

And finally, from the Premier League’s farewell list, John Stones spent 10 years at City but was allowed to leave at the end of the season. Unlike former teammate Bernardo, Stones is not worried about the English weather and could be tempted by a move to the Premier League.

Harry Wilson has been one of the Premier League’s most impressive performers this season, contributing 17 goals, including 10 goals, in 36 appearances. Liverpool have been talked about as a possible destination for Wilson, who came through the Merseysiders’ academy system.

One last hurrah, anyone? Jamie Vardy’s season in Serie A has come to an end, with the striker set to leave Cremonese as a free agent. He is a Premier League winner and will undoubtedly still be able to work as a player in the team. right?

Another on the Premier League’s exit list, Casemiro became a cult hero by the end of his time at Manchester United. Although he is past his prime, he has been sensational in recent months.

Speaking of sharpshooters, Robert Lewandowski is back on the move after his spell at Barcelona. Admittedly, Lewandowski is now in his late 30s, but he is extremely proud of his fitness and has scored 14 goals in the league this season.

Meanwhile, Leon Goretzka is set to leave Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in the offseason after eight years with the club. Arsenal have been mentioned in conversations, with Goretzka having an attractive option of signing on a free.

Jadon Sancho’s time as a United player ends in just over a month. He has had three different loan spells (of varying degrees) in recent years, but will now be free to sign with the club on his own terms. Perhaps the same will happen in the Premier League?
