Atletico Madrid star Julián Álvarez has been linked with Barcelona and Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window, but the Spanish side don’t seem too happy with rumors of his departure.

Atletico Madrid have been thrown into an astonishing social media frenzy following claims that Barcelona are working on signing Julián Álvarez.
The Argentine forward has been linked with a move away from the Metropolitano in recent months, including the Catalan giants and Premier League champions Arsenal. Reports in Spain even claim that Barcelona have made an opening offer of 100 million euros.
However, amidst these reports, Atleti shared a series of bizarre posts regarding X. They started like this. “Within minutes, we will issue a statement on a related matter that is generating a lot of misinformation.”
Next to a mock-up image of Barcelona star Lamine Yamal in an Atlético Madrid shirt, he wrote: “Here we go! I’ve sent a fax to Barcelona with a transfer offer. 4 tickets to tomorrow’s Bad Bunny concert, an annual subscription to ABC, and a bag of sunflower seeds. I’m looking forward to your reply so I can prepare for my ‘announcement’.”
Later, the Spanish side posted a similar post about Pedri with the caption: “Let’s go! Second offer, but a problem has arisen. We’ve run out of tickets for tomorrow’s concert, so we’ll improve on our previous offer by giving you 6 tickets for Sunday’s concert.”

The last post was centered around Raphinha and read: “Here we go! And to complete the 3×1, we’re going to get carried away and throw the small house out the window. Players arrive on loan for a season, and in return we’re loaning out Tom Ford and Smith with no option to buy. An offer we can’t refuse.”
Atletico Madrid continued: “Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to categorically deny that we have made an offer to the Sporting Director of FC Barcelona to join our scouting team in the Brazilian market.
“No, Atlético Madrid would never do something like that. But in recent months we have suffered from a smear campaign against one of our players: leaks of information with ulterior motives, “fake news”, constant belittling, a fake version of a propaganda machine making up small stories, a phone call before a face-to-face encounter…
“But of course it would never occur to us to add a vice president of referees to our payroll or rely on political favors to register players. Respect and values.”

Meanwhile, a previous statement criticized reports that Alvarez could be close to a move to Camp Nou, calling them “just a lie”.
Atleti captain Koke also gave his verdict. In an interview with Marca he said: “After a very intense year with many games and many stories, I was in Menorca with my wife with my cell phone off. And my cell phone was off, too.”
“I don’t know anything about the meeting. All I know is that Julien is an Atletico Madrid player and has a contract until 2030 with a multi-million dollar release clause. That’s all I can say.”
“Julian, as I said before, he is an Atlético Madrid player. He is a young man who is giving everything. He is in his second year at the club. Since he arrived, everyone has been trying to sell him to Barcelona, then to the other side, then to the other side. And now he is an Atlético player until he comes out and says otherwise.”
