Relegated Premier League clubs could sell some of their star players for reduced transfer fees this summer.
Premier League clubs will be cycling through newly relegated clubs as they look for bargains in the summer transfer window. West Ham United were unable to drop down on the final day and will join Burnley and Wolverhampton Wanderers in next season’s Championship.
All three clubs will be forced to cut costs as they face the reality of being outside the top flight. Signing a star player could help boost finances as relegated teams look to regroup for promotion.
Meanwhile, the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool may see the disappearance of relegated teams as an opportunity. As Champions League teams prepare for another busy summer, there could be an opportunity to sign some talented players on reduced fees after dropping out of the Championship.
Although the team did not survive, seven potential targets worth a total of £238 million have proven their quality in the Premier League and will strengthen the top-flight squad. This time, Mirror Football takes a look at who relegated stars such as Arsenal, United and Liverpool could target this summer.

Jarrod Bowen
The most prominent name on this list is the West Ham United captain. Jarrod Bowen has already been linked with United and Liverpool as he considers his next step. The 29-year-old scored nine goals and provided 11 assists in the Premier League, but was unable to lift the Hammers out of the relegation zone.

His contract runs until 2030, and it will likely cost a significant amount of money to acquire him. However, the Guardian reports that the Hammers need to raise more than £100m this summer, with Bowen also attracting interest.
Following West Ham’s relegation, Bowen issued a defiant message to Sky Sports: “There will be rumours, there will be discussions, but ultimately what I’m thinking about is getting this club back into the Premier League, because that’s where it deserves to be.”
Matheus Fernandes
Matheus Fernandes is another West Ham player who has been linked with a high-profile move. Arsenal and United are said to be interested in the 21-year-old midfielder, who joined the Hammers from Southampton for £38m last summer.
Crisencio Somerville
The Dutch winger completes West Ham’s trio and could help the club raise more than £100m in player sales. Crisencio Somerville started the year with a flurry of goals and finished the season with nine goals. The 24-year-old could be a back-up option if Liverpool or United target a left-winger this summer.
joan gomez
Wolves midfielder Joao Gomez is one of Manchester United’s hottest Premier League stars. Michael Carrick’s side are looking for a replacement for Casemiro and are hoping to sign at least two midfielders in the coming window. Wolves were previously reported to value the 25-year-old Brazil international at £43m, but relegation could change that offer. However, clubs hoping to sign Gomez may need to move quickly after reports that he is close to a move to Atletico Madrid.
Andre
Andre was previously a target for Liverpool and has since been touted as a potential successor to Casemiro at United. The 24-year-old was valued at £35m but recently penned a new four-year deal with Wolves, effectively ending any transfer speculation.
mateus mane
Matheus Mane was Wolves’ breakout star after a miserable season. The 18-year-old midfielder played in 27 league games, scoring 3 goals and providing 2 assists. A provisional price tag of £50 million had previously been suggested, as there has been talk of him leaving Molineux.
Jean Fleming
This is a slightly more outlandish option. The 27-year-old Dutch striker, currently valued at around £10m by Transfermarkt, has scored 11 goals for Burnley in his first season in the Premier League and could be valuable as a reserve number nine.
