Evangelos Marinakis was involved in an altercation and was photographed wearing a torn shirt.
Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis was spotted wearing a torn shirt after an apparent altercation in the stands during a basketball game. The 58-year-old was playing in the EuroLeague basketball final between Olympiakos and Real Madrid on Sunday night.
Mr Marinakis has been the owner of the Greek club since 2010. While Olympiakos defeated their Spanish opponents 92-85, the club’s owner was also said to have taken part in the altercation in the stands.
Video footage of Marinakis with his shirt torn and screaming at individuals while separated by a fence and security guards has been shared on social media. It is unclear how his shirt was torn.
Greek news outlet Ekatimerini reported that Olympiakos and the forest chief were at loggerheads with Grigoris Domitriadis, the nephew of Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. In footage shared on social media, Marinakis and Dmitriadis do not make contact with each other.
