Eberechi Eze became a Premier League winner after Arsenal won their first domestic title in 22 years, but things could have gone very differently for the former Crystal Palace star.
Ebelesi Eze couldn’t help but smile when asked about his decision to join Arsenal instead of Tottenham after lifting the Premier League trophy on Sunday.
The attacking midfielder and his Arsenal team-mates were crowned champions earlier this week as a result of Manchester City’s failure to beat Bournemouth. And after Sunday’s 2-1 win against Crystal Palace, they enjoyed a memorable celebration, basking in the glory of Arsenal’s first title in 22 years.
Things could have gone very differently for Eze, who had been given the chance to join Arsenal’s arch-rivals in the summer.
But the 27-year-old was forced into a move by Mikel Arteta and ended up joining Arsenal, but was asked by a hilarious Lee Dixon on NBC Sports if he thought he had made the right decision.

Eze and the former Arsenal defender laughed together and Eze replied with a smile:
While Arsenal lifted the trophy on Sunday, Spurs were embroiled in a relegation battle and unsure of their place in the Premier League.
They kept themselves up at the last minute thanks to a nervy 1-0 win against Everton and a penalty to West Ham.
Not only did Tottenham lose to Eze in the summer, the midfielder also scored a hat-trick against Tottenham in the North London derby. Eze was on the scoresheet again in the second game, scoring two goals in a match that also ended 4-1.
Arsenal could add to their first Premier League title in 22 years with victory in the Champions League, and ahead of next weekend’s final against Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest, Eze was asked what was behind the special feeling in the dressing room.
“It’s faith,” he answered. “Faith and belief. It’s showing up in a lot of places. I feel like everyone has a sense that we can do it, that we can accomplish things.
“I feel like that feeling is really all over the place.”
