West Ham are on the verge of relegation from the Premier League and a number of clubs are interested in signing captain Jarrod Bowen, with the knowledge that the Irons could be forced to sell players.

Manchester United want to sign Jarrod Bowen, joining rivals Liverpool and Chelsea in the race to sign him from at-risk West Ham. Bowen, 29, is expected to be available in the summer transfer window and West Ham would need to raise more than £100m from player sales if they are relegated.

The Irons are two points from safety and will drop down the table if Tottenham beat Everton on Sunday afternoon, regardless of the result against Leeds. Despite West Ham’s struggles, Bowen captained a sinking ship with 10 goals and 11 assists.

The forward will also hope to be called up to England’s squad for the World Cup on Friday. Liverpool have long been rumored to be interested in signing him as a replacement for Mo Salah, who leaves Anfield this summer, with Chelsea emerging as a potential suitor.

Now United are in the race. The Guardian reports that United are preparing to make moves to strengthen their attack in preparation for a return to the Champions League.

He added that the Red Devils consider Bowen’s versatility a big plus. The former Hull City star can play as either a striker or a right-winger and has scored double figures in goals in five of his six full seasons at West Ham.

Chelsea also want to be more competitive on the right flank. Bowen’s contract runs until 2030, but West Ham will be under pressure to sell if relegation is confirmed.

In a new interview with Sky Sports, Bowen admitted he won’t talk about his future until the end of the season. “I’ve been doing that since I was at Hull,” he explained.

“At the end of every season, I sit down and think about what’s best for me, what I’m feeling, what my instincts are. Then I make a decision and go with it.”

He is keen to qualify for the World Cup, but survival is his only priority for now. “Probably one of the biggest weeks of my career,” Bowen added.

“So it would be wrong to spend the next few weeks dwelling on the past and start putting energy into other things. I love this club. I care about this club very much. That’s why I want to put all my energy into this week.”

“A lot of things get printed. That’s what happens these days on social media and in newspapers. A lot of false things get published there. If I have time to talk and address different issues, it’s going to come from me, because that’s how I work.”

“I’m very honest. I’m very open. I work on different kinds of things all the time. But for me right now, my energy has to go into this week. I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
