Arsenal were crowned champions on Tuesday night after Manchester City’s draw with Bukayo Saka posting a video of himself and Miles Lewis-Skelly laughing at the ‘bottlers’ accusation.
Bukayo Saka posted a video of Miles Lewis-Skelly making light of the ‘bottlers’ tag as he celebrated winning the Premier League with a bottle of champagne.
The Gunners were crowned champions on Tuesday night, with Manchester City only able to draw with Bournemouth, meaning they were unable to progress on the final day.
Mikel Arteta’s side ended their third consecutive second-place finish, ending their 22-year wait for a league title. Arsenal have held the lead for most of the season, but sources outside the club claimed they had similar experiences in the past and were at risk of losing their strong position again.
In 2023 and 2024, he led City into the final weeks, but lost important games and missed out on the title. Recent defeats at home to Bournemouth and at the Etihad meant the team once again had to deal with accusations that they had “swamped” the title.
Lewis-Skelly made light of it in a video recorded by Saka. “They called us bottlers, and now we have bottles!” he said as the team celebrated their young star with champagne in hand.

Arsenal reacted well to the loss to City, winning their next four games without conceding a goal. Meanwhile, Josep Guardiola’s side drew with Everton and then missed out on a point at Bournemouth, which ultimately ended their challenge.
With the Champions League final coming up this month, the Gunners could end their memorable season with even more glory. They will face PSG in Budapest, aiming for their first victory against the team they were eliminated in the semi-finals of last season’s tournament.
Arsenal players rallied around the draw between Bournemouth and City, which ultimately clinched the title. They celebrated together at London’s Colney Training Center and images of them all were seen online.
Saka and Lewis Skelly are two of the team’s academy graduates. The former has been part of Arteta’s tenure since the beginning, playing in a team that hit rock bottom in 2021. The Spaniard continued to maintain the trust of the upper management, storming towards the top four and then turning the team into title contenders through shrewd investment.
