Manchester United could be looking to capitalize on Federico Valverde’s failure at Real Madrid by luring the Uruguayan star to Old Trafford this summer
Manchester United are considering a shock move for Real Madrid loser Federico Valverde. The Uruguay star found himself exiled in the Spanish capital after a training ground row with teammate Aurelien Choameny.
The accident resulted in Valverde needing hospital treatment for a concussion and will miss the remainder of the season. Real’s vice-captain was forced to make a public statement and apologized profusely. However, club leaders remain furious with the midfielder and are thought to be considering a move this summer.
To make matters worse, executives in Real’s dressing room are siding with Choameni and want Valverde to be sold ahead of next season.
United are monitoring the situation at the Bernabéu closely. The English giants are keen to strengthen their midfield options this summer and have expressed an interest in Choameni.

However, the French World Cup winner is said to be reluctant to leave Real following the support the club has shown in recent days against Valverde.
It remains to be seen whether Valverde will be interested in a move to United. The Uruguay international’s contract runs until 2029 and he will praise his huge transfer fee.
United have made signing two top-class midfielders a top priority this summer. Casemiro will leave Old Trafford at the end of the season, but United are expected to sell Manuel Ugarte to the highest bidder.
Potential targets for United include Elliott Anderson, Carlos Baleva, Adam Wharton, Choameni and now Valverde.
Valverde, 27, has 73 international caps and will play for Uruguay at this summer’s North American World Cup.
