Manchester United have unveiled their new home kit for the 2026/27 season, which will be worn for the first time this weekend against Nottingham Forest. The public got their first glimpse of the new strip at Old Trafford on Wednesday when a giant poster appeared outside the stadium overlooking the forecourt. It has since been officially released and will be available on Fanatics this morning at 9am.

Inspired by the Red Devils’ strips of the 1970s, this kit features Adidas’ iconic Three Stripes running along the sleeves. The Adidas strip will be worn when United return to the Champions League next season, with the contract with the sportswear giant returning to standard terms, with a £10m deduction for non-Champions League seasons included in the contract.

The new kit will make its first official appearance on Saturday when United Women wear it in their final WSL game of the season against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Michael Carrick’s side will present the ribbon to Old Trafford on Sunday as Brazilian star Casemiro wears it in the final home game of his United career. The first teams will play again on the final day of the season at Brighton.

In doing so, United will, for the first time, break with tradition of debuting next season’s kit before the end of the current campaign.

Unveiling new kits at the final home game of the season is an increasingly trending trend among top clubs, with the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea having done so over the years, but this is the first time United have followed suit.

Man United 2026/27 Home Kit is now available at Fanatics. Fans can choose between a ‘replica’ or ‘authentic’ version, each also available at Kitbag, Sports Direct and Man United Official Stores, with prices starting from £85 for the adult shirt and £55 for the children’s shirt.

Man United fans took to social media following the announcement, sharing their first impressions of the new home kit. One person wrote to X: “Beautiful. The Champions League badge would look amazing.”

Another said: “Clean kit. Manchester United always bat differently in red.”

Not everyone is convinced, as this commenter notes, “It took Adidas designers about 10 minutes to come up with this, right?”

Nevertheless, another Reds fan said, “I like this. It looks clean and smooth.”
