Mohamed Salah is officially set to leave Liverpool this summer, with a number of clubs reporting links with the Egyptian international as he mulls over his next move.

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah reportedly likes the idea of remaining in Europe if he leaves Anfield this summer. It is also said that Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce are prepared to offer the Egyptian a three-year contract, which could earn him up to around £52 million.

The 33-year-old will soon leave the Reds after nearly a decade on Merseyside. Salah has won a number of major accolades since joining Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side in June 2017. This includes two Premier League titles, the Champions League, the FA Cup and two League Cups.

However, the winger’s form dropped dramatically this season and manager Arne Slott dropped him after a few games. There has been speculation about Salah’s next move since he announced his departure in March.

The former Chelsea, Roma and Fiorentina player has been heavily linked with a move to the Saudi Professional League in recent years and was the subject of a £150m bid from Al Ittihad in 2023, which Liverpool rejected.

And The Sun now claims his first choice is to remain in Europe, although he could earn more by moving to Saudi Arabia this summer.

Meanwhile, according to reports in Egypt, Jose Mourinho’s former club Fenerbahce have met with Salah’s agent and announced a project for the next three years.

The Turkish club are said to be planning how to build their team around Salah as they aim to win their first league title since 2014.

The report also claims that during the meeting, Salah’s agent was told that Fenerbahce were willing to offer him an annual salary of £17.3m and sign him to a three-year contract, which would see him earn around £52m over that period.

This follows recent Egyptian claims that Spanish giants Real Madrid are leading the charge for Salah.

However, it is said that Los Blancos’ transfer policy does not normally allow them to offer lucrative contracts to players in the twilight of their careers.

Italian clubs such as Roma, Juventus and Inter Milan are also reportedly interested.

A possible partnership with American MLS team Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi has also been discussed, but the league’s salary cap could be an obstacle.
