Real Madrid will play Barcelona without Kylian Mbappé, as the star striker felt a muscle problem during training and stopped training, leaving the Whites’ attack light.
Kylian Mbappe will miss Sunday night’s El Clasico after the Real Madrid star left the training pitch on Saturday due to hamstring discomfort.
The Frenchman has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons lately, with millions signing a petition calling for him to be banned from the club. While Barcelona are once again closing in on the La Liga title, Real’s season looks set to end without a trophy.
Real could get at least one win against their rivals at the Camp Nou, but Marca insists if they do that they will have to do it without the World Cup winners. The 27-year-old surprised his teammates by pulling over during training, announcing his problem and walking away. Los Blancos have announced the squad for tonight’s heavyweight clash, but it only includes four forwards, and Mbappé is not among them. This will put Vinicius Jr. in charge of the attack.
Mbappe has been the subject of widespread criticism from Bernabeu supporters after choosing to holiday on a yacht with his new girlfriend while recovering from a hamstring injury. A petition calling for the club to sell him this summer has gathered a whopping 70 million signatures.

Mbappe has scored 41 goals in all competitions this season and scored Real’s opening goal as they beat Barcelona 2-1 earlier this season. However, a recent slump has meant they have won just five of their last ten La Liga matches.
The Spanish giants go into the Clasico after the failures of Federico Valverde and Aurelien Choameni. The pair were involved in a shocking scuffle in the dressing room, which left the Uruguayan with a cut on his head and required hospital treatment. Both players were fined 500,000 euros for their roles in the dispute.
Manager Álvaro Albeloa, who is set to move in the summer, said: “Valverde and Choameni deserve our move, to give them the chance to keep fighting for this club. I’m very proud of them and I won’t allow this to be used to question their professionalism.”
The Real manager also harshly criticized the leak from within the club. “The most serious thing for me, and what pains me the most, is that what happened in the Real Madrid dressing room should stay there,” he added. “If what happened in the dressing room were to be leaked, I think it would be a betrayal of Real Madrid and what this badge stands for.”
