Arsenal travel to West Ham in Sunday’s crucial Premier League clash, but Mikel Arteta has confirmed Julian Timber and Mikel Merino will miss the clash at the London Stadium.
Arsenal face what could be a pivotal match in the Premier League title race this weekend. The Gunners travel to the London Stadium to face West Ham on Sunday afternoon.
Before that, all eyes will be on second-placed Manchester City, who take on Brentford on Saturday afternoon. Heading into this weekend’s games, Arsenal are five points clear of City at the top of the table. But City are in control of the game.
This advantage means Arsenal’s fate is firmly in their hands, knowing that just three wins in their remaining league games will seal their first Premier League title in 23 years.

Manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that full-backs Julian Timber and Mikel Merino will both be absent. The big question is whether the pair will return before the end of the season.
Timber has missed the past 11 games with an ankle issue, and Merino is recovering from surgery to break a foot.
“They don’t have a chance this weekend,” Arteta said at his pre-match press conference.
As for whether the pair will feature before the end of the season, he said: “I don’t know, but there’s still quite a bit of work to do so everything has to happen very smoothly and quickly to have any chance of playing.”

Manager Nuno Espirito Santo has confirmed that his squad is fully fit for the match at the London Stadium. “Everyone is fine. It’s good for us that everyone is healthy,” he said at the pre-game press conference.
This means the Hammers manager faces a choice dilemma. Striker Callum Wilson will be asked to lead the line from the off.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Jean-Clair Todibo are also in contention to start.
