David Raya kept another clean sheet as Arsenal secured a dramatic 1-0 win over West Ham on Sunday – and the Spanish goalkeeper achieved a personal feat at the London Stadium.
Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya has won the Premier League Golden Glove award for the third consecutive season. The Gunners star has kept 18 clean sheets in the league and after Sunday’s shutout win over West Ham, he was unable to catch up with his rivals.
Raya was a central figure in Arsenal’s controversial 1-0 win, when West Ham’s 95th-minute equalizer was canceled out by VAR for a foul on the goalkeeper. Pablo was adjudged to have interfered with Raya as she tried to grab a corner kick just before Callum Wilson fired.
The decision meant Leandro Trossard’s goal was enough to secure a vital three points, leaving Arsenal five behind leaders Manchester City. It also represented a personal achievement for Raya, who also kept a clean sheet.
The next closest is Manchester City’s Gianluigi Donnarumma, who has kept 14 clean sheets, but City have only three league games left this season, meaning they are currently unable to catch Raya. The Spaniard is a key player for Arsenal and underlined his importance with a second-half save to deny him a one-on-one with West Ham midfielder Matheus Fernandes.

Mikel Arteta said after the match: “When you talk about magical moments, this is certainly one of the moments you need most to make a successful save. He was fantastic.”
Asked if this was his biggest save of the season, Arteta added: “I don’t know. To be fair he’s made a few. So, yeah, that says a lot about how good he was.”
Former Premier League goalkeeper Shay Given said on Match of the Day: “Fernandes is clean through on goal, it’s one-on-one situations. When Fernandes scores, he’s not committing himself, he’s actually giving the decision to his forward players.”
“It was five minutes before Trossard’s goal. A huge save in the context of winning the Premier League. Arsenal have the trophy in their hands. He’s unbelievable. He won the Golden Glove for three seasons in a row. This guy is the real deal.”
Raya joined Arsenal from Brentford in 2023 and has won the Golden Glove every season since. He is the third consecutive goalkeeper to win the award, joining former Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina and Man City duo Joe Hart and Ederson.
He posted on Instagram, “The team’s great performance and another clean sheet kept the momentum going. We’re sure to win the Golden Glove. Two more to go.”
Arsenal will win their first Premier League title since 2004 if they defeat Burnley and Crystal Palace in their final two league games of the season. Raya will also face the difficult task of defeating Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final on May 30th.
